Tomatoworld also organises special combination tours together with World Horti Center. World Horti Center is the knowledge and innovation centre of the international greenhouse horticulture sector. A combination visit makes your visit to Westland a complete horticultural experience.
The tours are for groups of up to 15 people and last approximately 3 hours. Regardless of the number of participants, the price for these tours is € 795,00.

The world of greenhouse horticulture has so much to offer. During a tour at the World Horti Center, trade visitors are taken by HortiXperts through all facets of ultramodern developments in the sector. The tour at the knowledge and innovation centre is a true HortiXperience; it includes a visit to the high-tech research centre, you will be taken along the many innovations demonstrated in more than 100 stands of leading greenhouse horticulture companies and you can also take a look at MBO Westland, where education and business come together.
After this visit, you will make a 5-minute transfer to Tomatoworld.
Tomatoworld is a real experience where you'll visit the greenhouse with more than 80 different tomato varieties. A specialist will tell you how innovatively the Dutch growers grow their products. You will see bumblebees doing their work and you will feel the pleasant climate in which the tomato plants grow. When all your questions about cultivation have been answered, you will visit the "candy store" of tomatoes. You'll learn about the characteristics and use of the different varieties and you may taste which tomato you prefer.

Everything starts with a tiny seed. The Dutch greenhouse horticulture sector is renowned for its sustainable production method, but you probably didn't know that almost a quarter of all vegetable seeds come from Dutch breeding companies. Breeding is the germ of the sector. Without the high-quality seeds, Dutch growers would not be able to grow the beautiful, healthy products.
The breeding tour starts at Tomatoworld, where you will first become aware of the challenges we face worldwide in the supply of healthy and safe food. A specialist takes you into the world from seed to tomato. You will become acquainted with the global players in the field of vegetable distribution and become aware of the great value they have.
During a visit to the greenhouse with more than 80 different tomato varieties, you will experience how the grower allows the high-quality seeds to grow into plants with a high yield per square metre.
After the visit to Tomatoworld, you will make a transfer to the World Horti Center. Here, you will enter the high-tech environment of the Dutch greenhouse horticulture sector. More than 120 leading companies from the sector present their latest innovations, including in the field of breeding and propagation, on a permanent exhibition floor. Also all other innovative and sustainable solutions in the process from seed to consumer will be presented. The tour also takes in the educational part of the knowledge and innovation centre, where talent of the future meets business. The tour concludes in the research centre, where 38 different departments conduct research in the field of climate, irrigation, lighting, crop protection and cultivation systems in order to test the effects at the crop level.
