Vacancy technical project manager
24 - 32 hours per week
As Technical Project Manager, you will be the hub of our dynamic and innovative team. You will be responsible for managing and coordinating projects aimed at testing and validating new technologies in our field lab. With us, you don't work at just any cultivation site. In our 1,500 m2 greenhouse, high-tech startups / companies test the latest developments with sensors, cameras and robots. You work closely with various organisations, including technology companies, research institutes and educational institutions, to put the implementation of innovative solutions into practice.
What will you do / What does it entail?
- Together with the senior cultivation manager, you will direct the development of the Tomatoworld field lab.
- You will act as the point of contact for all project-related activities within Tomatoworld.
- Facilitate technology companies and research partners in testing and validating their innovations in our greenhouse and coordinate activities
- Assist in drafting and implementing crop plans and strategies.
- Observe and monitor crop growth, health and development.
- Perform analysis and collect data to improve crop performance.
- Support implementation of sustainable and innovative cultivation methods.
- Report findings and recommendations to the senior cultivation manager.
- Report project progress to internal and external stakeholders.
What we ask of you:
- Background in engineering or agrifood with a keen interest and curiosity in new technologies.
- Good command of the Dutch and English languages.
- Knowledge of and experience with digitalisation within horticulture.
- Willingness to learn about new innovations within horticulture.
Ideally, you have:
- Project management experience: From concept phase to implementation, including planning, execution and monitoring.
- Cultivation experience: Cultivation experience or willing to learn it. Examples include: Observing and monitoring crop growth, health and development, Performing analyses and collecting data to improve crop results, Supporting the implementation of sustainable and innovative cultivation methods, Pruning, harvesting, leaf cutting and miscellaneous cultivation activities, Preparing products for marketing, Control and Performing crop inspections.
